October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this episode kicks off a month-long series of conversations to unpack what DV is. Domestic Violence impacts 1 and 4 women, and 1 and 9 men in this country. If we ever want that to change we need to start discussing this as the crisis that it is and change future outcomes. Most people think of it in terms of romantic relationships but DV can happen in all intimate forms of relationships and they aren't always physical. Dr. Tameka joined me to help dispel some of the common myths, and broaden our understanding of how and why domestic violence happens.
