According to the inter-webs, Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event or like many experience in their lives, a series of events. Longer term reactions include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, strained relationships, and even physical symptoms like headaches or nausea. Or let's face it, crippling anxiety, depression, energy, motivation and the ability to show up and take care of yourself, let alone someone you love.
Not only are many people living with trauma, others are having to care for the people who caused it.
In this episode, I speak with an expert who offers suggestions on how to self-soothe in the moment, when you are having a nervous system response. She also offers suggestions on resources to access, for the more in-depth work.
