It's good to be back to this podcast after taking such a long hiatus. But I found that my baby daughter was just too much for me to handle full-time and get the podcast out regularly, so I had to chose to take a break. Thank you for your patience, texts, emails and other words of encouragement.
Today we're celebrating the final days of the Easter season with the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, year B. This is the feast when Jesus ascends into heaven, right before the eyes of his disciples.
The responsorial psalm for today, taken from chapter 47, states:
"God mounts his throne to shouts of joy: a blare of trumpets for the Lord."
The Gospel Acclamation for today, taken from Matthew 28:19a, 20b, says:
"Go and teach all nations, says the Lord;
I am with you always, until the end of the world."
The church chose the same chapter & verse of Matthew for the communion antiphon today as well:
Behold, I am with you always,
even to the end of the age, alleluia.
(Matthew 28:20)
Featured Songs:
Psalm 47: God Mounts His Throne (Rebecca De La Torre)
Spirit of the Living God (Daniel Iverson)
