Haimanti Dutta Ray is an author, blogger and columnist based out of Kolkata. Prior to taking up freelance writing as a full time occupation, Ray was working with Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. Ray graduated in English literature from Calcutta University and has always been an avid reader which led to her forming a passion for story-telling. This particular story is taken from the festival edition magazine of one of India's oldest and most respected English newspaper still in publication, 'The Statesman'.
