Description

Training in the water is extremely benficial for everyone. It can be used for:
1. Cross-Training and Sport-Specific training in order to optimize performance for sports
2. Holistic pain management and Rehabilitation
3. Maintenance exercise program
The main reason for the effective results is Buoyancy- it is a supportive system that helps transform compensatory and unhealthy movement into normal and healthy movement patterns over time. When our bodies are supported, non-painful stimuli (messages) travel to the brain and report that it is safe to proceed with movement. When we have had or have pain, the brain anticpates the point when this will occur so in essence, it is on "high alert." In short, these new messages facilitate the development of healthy programs in our brains which also decrease the incidence of injury due to increased mobility and stability (via core activation). The benfits of pool training include significant increases in flexibility, mobility, muscle strength, endurance, balance, coordination, and relaxation.
