Martin Achatz is the current the U.P. Poet Laureate of Michigan. He has a Master’s Degree in Fiction and an MFA in Poetry and is a Contingent Professor in the English Department at Northern Michigan University. His collection of poems, The Mysteries of the Rosary, was published by Mayapple Press, and he has twice been nominated for the Pushcart Prize. Martin lives in Ishpeming, Michigan, with his wife and two children. In his spare time, he enjoys searching for Bigfoot with his son.
