Today we start on Low Men in Yellow Coats, the first story from Hearts in Atlantis. Since we are on a quest to the Dark Tower, this is the only story from Hearts in Atlantis that we are covering, for now. But the entire book is wonderful and if you want to learn more about Bobby, Carol and Sully, then please read the rest of the book, you won't be disappointed. Anyway, let's start the tale of the lonely Bobby Garfield and his mom, who have a complicated relationship that gets even more strained with the arrival of an elderly boarder renting a room upstairs. This is a DT story, but you don't really know that until the end. Most of this book is classic Stephen King, with a 12 year child in a single parent home just living his best life in his own small town. This is another book that you don't need to enjoy the Tower experience, but it sure enhances it. This isn't about Tower, until it is, because all things serve the Beam (not the King).
