Welcome to this week’s episode of Chase The Vase. Norman is a practicing pharmacist for approximately 8 years. As a young man, Norman struggled with substance use disorder with either alcohol, Adderall, or both. As a college student, he used Adderall and alcohol to assist him with the relentless grind of keeping up in pharmacy school.
Ultimately, Norman's addiction spiraled out of control and in July of 2019, he was arrested for diverting medication from the pharmacy where he was working. He was investigated by the DEA and formally charged. Norman re-focused his life and worked through the charges and has since returned to work. Get this, as a pharmacist! Yes, we do recover and can be trusted. Norman has been rigorously honest about his past and is striving to become a physician’s assistance. His goal is to become a PA in order to work directly with patients who struggle with addiction.
