Description

Meet Tara. She is a grateful recovering alcoholic, a single mom to one incredible little boy. She is a child of an alcoholic. Her mom decided to no longer be a part of my life when she was 17 about 6 months after her dad died.

In high school she was labeled a party girl. Tara hung out with everyone or anyone who wanted to party. At 14 she was arrested for shoplifting and everything went downhill from there. She started cutting her wrists when she was 16. She grew up in a home where domestic violence was the norm. She didn’t know how to ask for help, so I turned to alcohol, pills, sex. She used anything to numb the pain.

Her mission is to share the message that, “you aren’t alone.” Tara has found connection in her sober community and no longer feels alone.

Tara shares her voice to men and women who need a voice of reason. She understands that she is “not a perfect human. Tara said, “I’m actually a very messy exhausting human...and It will take a lifetime of continuous work to keep me on a good path. There is no finish line for me and there isn’t for anyone in recovery. I’m here for anyone who wants to push themselves in the right direction.”

Tara is a veteran and struggled with her time in the military. She attributes her childhood trauma as a major factor in her addiction and in her fight for recovery.
