Mustafa was a former Egyptian diplomat to Beijing and subsequently an investment specialist at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). He was a key architect behind the China-Egypt Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and many investments into the MENA region by the AIIB.
