If you’re focused on making top-down changes, be aware that you may not always see those changes in practice. You’re going to spend a lot of time trying to change very small things, but if you can make a change, it will be spread out over a large population. If you’re working from the bottom-up, like me, it’s really important to remember that what matters is the people that you serve and how you can take those grassroots changes and find ways of scaling them and translating your knowledge to new contexts.
