People want to be perfectionists, so they want their speech to be perfect, but they have this fear that if they start speaking it won’t be perfect. And they continue to live with this belief system without even trying because of the fear that they have. Perfectionists can self-sabotage themselves because they avoid challenges to avoid failure. Perfectionists want to feel absolutely ready before taking on challenges. This can actually hold them back in life.
Uncertainty is the number one reason why people don’t start businesses. Why they are afraid to do things in the future because they don’t know so they rather replay the same thing over and over and live their regular lives. You shouldn’t devote time to refining and perfecting your ideas when uncertainty is high and thus the risk of getting it completely wrong is very high.
Our perception is controlled by our mental beliefs, in the sense that we have created in our mindset. Neurocognitive scientists have discovered that after you turn 30 years old you run on a preprogram at 95% at the subconscious level. The mind is a pervasive, powerful influence over such higher mental processes. At 30 years old, your brain will be at a point where its belief system has been so prominent. This means your thinking process will be too stubborn to learn how to change your mindset. It is crucial that the basics and the fundamentals of having a good mindset must be instilled and learned before 30.
One big tip to help is meditation. When Arthur meditates, he separates the thought from emotion because a lot of the time it is the emotion that’s giving you the fear. When you separate the emotion from taught you separate the fear from logic.
