Helen Gorst Peterson grew up in Brooklyn NY. She was a professional ballerina for The American Ballet Co. She is a great listener, loves her family, doesn’t take any BS, and loved to travel. She is a fighter and always has been. May all of you listening to this say a prayer for her. She suffered a stroke and now is in hospice. Life is not alway’s great news and good things. I know that I will always remember how she made me feel... Even if I was a kid who wasn’t doing well she always made me feel welcomed and loved no matter what. She always got my brother and I a hallmark ornament for Xmas and since 1981 I’ve got ornaments from her. The 1st is a metal train ornament. I probably could tell you all 39 of them. She always catered to what it was you were doing in life or what your passion was at the time. Just how thoughtful she was. She did this for all of the family. She knows what we all love and enjoy. I remember being so sick when my parents were on a trip. My nana was watching me. Well i got a fever so bad that she rushed me inside our house in Collierville and told me to go to the bath tub and take my clothes off. Well she came back to make a ice bath and I was waiting on her to leave. She didn’t care she said get your butt in that ice bath! I was embarrassed but it was that serious. I was deathly sick. She didn’t hesitate to take charge in any situation. I can’t remember how I was when I stayed with her and papa but I know I felt like I was with my family. She took care of me when I was young a lot of the time. She is so special to me and I am so thankful she is my nana! Friends please say a prayer for her and keep us in your thoughts. I love you Nana!
