In the 80th episode of Around The Waves on KCOU 88.1 FM, Luca Vitale, Ben Schmidt, and Justin Craft begin the day with the "Take A Swing" segment, where they debate if Mizzou baseball has more pressure than Texas A&M to win the series and if Mizzou softball needs to go in a different direction for a hitting coach. Mizzou baseball didn't look promising after a disastrous third inning, where Texas A&M sent 15 batters to the plate with 9 players crossing the plate. Game 2 of that series is tonight. First pitch is at 6:00 CT. Meanwhile, Mizzou softball kicked off a 9-game homestand on Wednesday with a run-rule victory over Lindenwood. The Tigers host Ole Miss this weekend in a 3-game series. Game 1 of that series is tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 CT. Around The Waves then transitions to the MLB where they debate if the St. Louis Cardinals' slow start is enough to keep them from winning NL Central. Following baseball, the crew goes "onto the ice." Justin and Luca debate if the Pittsburgh Penguins' "golden age" is over. Lastly, the crew then transitions to the NBA where Ben discusses if the Los Angeles Lakers can make a run in the Western Conference. Next week we'll invite our next guest(s) to the show, so stay tuned!
