In the 65th episode of Around The Waves on KCOU 88.1 FM, Luca Vitale, Ben Schmidt, and Ryan Waelterman begin the day with a Mizzou football preview as the Tigers host Vanderbilt for their homecoming game. Both teams are still looking for their first SEC victory. As Mizzou football kicks off the second half of the season, they hope to fix its sputtering offense against a team that has struggled defensively. Furthermore, the Tigers are getting reinforcements back on the defensive side of the ball – Chad Bailey and Kris Abrams-Draine. Game action is scheduled for 3:00 CT. The crew then transitions to the NFL, where they debate if the Baltimore Ravens are contenders or pretenders and if the Seattle Seahawks can make the postseason. Around The Waves transitions to the NBA for Ben's Basketball Brief where he gives his NBA sleeper teams for the 2022-23 season. Lastly, Around The Waves gives their Vezina winners for this season.
