In this weeks episode, host Chris Cottrell interviews the head coach of Lubbock Christian University, Todd Duncan.

Currently Lubbock Christian is ranked number 1 in the nation in NCAA Division II men’s basketball. They are now 19-1 this year, after losing their first game of the season over the weekend to Dallas Baptist University in Lone Star Conference Play.

Coach Duncan is in his 11th season as the head coach at LCU and holds an overall record of 194 - 108. He has led the Chaps to 3 NCAA Division II national tournament appearances in a possible 6 opportunities. In 2021 Lubbock Christian won the Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship. Coach Duncan has successfully led Lubbock Christian’s transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II as well as the transition from the Heartland Conference to the Lone Star Conference. In 2021, Duncan was named the Clarence Gaines D-II National Coach of the Year award recipient, presented annually by CollegeInsider.com.

On today’s episode Coach Cottrell and Coach Duncan discuss navigating the NAIA to NCAA Transition, as well navigating the pandemic, and the positive effects that the pandemic had on their basketball program. Coach Duncan also talks about the strength of the Lone Star Conference, recruiting philosophy, and the stellar play of Parker Hicks, Rowan Mackenzie and Aamer Muhammad.
