If you're blue and you don't know where to go to why don't you go where laughter sits? Puttin' on the pod. (Did that work? Not really. But, we tried!) Spooky Season takes a comedic detour, as we discuss frequent guest Max's first time watching the Mel Brooks' classic: Young Frankenstein! One of host Spencer's favorite movies, they go deep down a spiral staircase of discussion, talking about this film, it's merits both as a continuation of the Frankenstein films by Universal, it's comedic excellence, and quotes galore; which paired with random discussions about Blazing Saddles, the Original Universal Monster Movies, Ghostbusters (obviously), and more, truly create a Frankenstein's Monster level of mishmashed parts to make one of their best episodes yet! We also discuss Max watching Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein for the first time, and discuss how they continue to hold up, and how this isn't satire of those, but a comedic homage to the horror greats. Although his Grandfather's work was doo-doo, their work on this pod is not, and would make any mad scientist's family proud. But no, we are not calling these episodes "Feels like the first time", and Max will not be leaving for his own pod.
