Description

Margaret R. Benz, ANP-BC, FAANP is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Saint Louis University. She sees patients as an APRN in the St. Louis Housing Authority’s Parkview Clinic. She received her BSN (1978), MSN(R) (1982), and Adult Nurse Practitioner Post-Masters Certificate (1995) all from Saint Louis University. Ms. Benz serves on the Board of Directors and Trustees of the St. Patrick Center for homeless since 2002 chairing the Program Committee from 2002 – 2010 overseeing housing, mental health, prisoner release programs and Veteran service.  Margaret was Governor Nixon's appointee to MO Health Net Oversight Committee 2010 - 2019 serving as vice chair from 2014 -2019. Margaret has received awards for Teaching Excellence at Saint Louis University, St. Louis Magazine’s Nursing Excellence Award for Community Care, March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award for Teaching Excellence, AANP State Excellence Award, MONA Nurse of the Year and a Volunteerism award from President Obama for community service.
