Dr. Lynette Dixon is a licensed professional counselor who also holds a certification in substance abuse counseling. Dr. Dixon has worked with clients who were in the drug court trying to overcome various addictions. She shares with us the client/ patient relationship and describes it as a "sacred space" where patients come to discuss some of their hardest trials to overcome and how we as providers through motivational interviewing techniques can "meet them where they are" and travel the "journey with them." As providers who deal with patients facing addictions this information is most valuable and this is the beginning of a series of talks that will open the eyes of our understanding to the various techniques we can use to help our patients find their path.
