Description

Networking is the process or practice of building up or maintaining informal relationships, especially with people whose friendship could bring advantages such as job or business opportunities.

A certain man was set for his book launch; so he paid a rich neighbour a visit to see if he can help with its cost. The neighbour promised to help, but requested the author carries out an exercise. He added that the success or failure of the exercise would not in any way influence his decision to assist with the launch. Then he gave the author a note pad and a pen to enumerate ten names he could invite for the book launch and he is certain they can all afford to give him ten thousand each during the launch. To the surprise of the author, he could not even put down a name.
So the question is, what kind of network have you built and what can you benefit from it? Press play to listen as Iyiola Oladunjoye joins Lucky and Eloka on The Eclectic to discuss the power of networking. Is there any comparison or contrast between networking and being an opportunist? How can one develop a good network and sustain it?
