While Manny Coto’s DR. GIGGLES has accumulated a small, but dedicated cult following since its 1992 release, it never really got the love I always believed it truly deserved. Larry Drake gives one of the most memorable performances of his career, his portrayal of a killer Santa in the TALES FROM THE CRYPT episode “And All Through the House” coming in at a close second.
While many are repelled by its wall-to-wall quips and one-liners, I think it adds to the fun of the experience. At the end of the day, that’s what DR. GIGGLES is: a popcorn movie. It’s not CITIZEN KANE.
If you’ve yet to experience this ‘90s classic, simply go in expecting a good time and a lot of laughs. I can almost guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
