HELL HIGH a.k.a. RAGING FURY is an atypical 1980s slasher flick which doesn’t follow traditional genre tropes. With its title, one can’t help but anticipate a standard body count flick. Instead, we head off in bizarre territory that includes an angelic little girl murdering a couple near a vacant swamp, a group of outcasts harassing their Biology teacher to the point of a near breakdown, and an incredibly odd “step aside while I instruct you how to properly sexually assault this woman” scene.
In terms of quality, performances, and script, HELL HIGH doesn’t withstand the test of time. With 2020s political correctness, it doesn’t come close. Still, it’s worth a look, even if only for nostalgic purposes.
