1980’s PROM NIGHT is essential slasher movie viewing, a juicy slice of Canucksploitation which helped further Jamie Lee Curtis’ career in horror. It follows oft-trodden ground, focusing on a group of youths who are responsible for the death of one of their contemporaries, only to be stalked years later by a masked maniac out for vengeance.
It may seem cliched by today’s standards, especially with movies like I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER ripping it off beat-for-beat, but it remains a horror staple and one of the best slashers of its era.
