At just 16 years of age, netballer Maddy Proud became the youngest ever player to be contracted to a professional team, the Adelaide Thunderbirds. In 2017, Maddy moved to Sydney to join the NSW Swifts, who she captained to a premiership in 2019, after being sidelined with an ACL rupture. In 2020, following an impressive Suncorp Super Netball Season, Maddy was selected for her first Australian Diamonds Netball squad. Maddy has some really unique insights on battling through injury and rehab, while trying to lead a team from the sidelines. She has even written a book - Grace on the Court, after seeing a gap in the market around books about teenage girls playing sport.
