YOGA POSE BREAKDOWN:
Warrior I
Sanskrit: Virabhadrasana I
Today we discuss Warrior I pose or Virabhadrasana I. A member of the powerful Warrior Poses, this particular pose is commonly started from Downward Facing Dog or from Mountain pose. It is a standing & strength posture and is common in vinyasa flow classes. Some believe it’s complicated and choose to skip it altogether and replace it with Crescent Lunge, changing the placement of the back foot from a 45 degree angle in Warrior I to taking those back toes pointed towards the top of your mat. Listen as I breakdown this pose and hopefully give you the confidence to add it to your practice.
