As part of a continuing and sporadic series I am doing focusing on looking at the lore related to character creation from Pillars of Eternity, we are looking (today) at one of the Class choices we have in the game: Paladins.
For those experienced in the fantasy RPG genre, a paladin is a familiar character class for us. For those uninitiated, they're usually the highly charismatic and heavily armoured holy warrior/knight character in games. The fascinating thing about Paladins in their history/origin, because as you can imagine, if you have a dedicated group of people who are zealous for a cause/king/creator that have continued existing for decades (if not centuries); then you can be fairly certain they have an interesting story behind them.
