El 8 de agosto de 1933 asesinaron a Romualdo Ivani Zambelli, un mecánico chileno, de 42 años al momento de ser asaltado por delincuentes en la esquina de Alameda con calle San Borja, quienes lo apuñalaron. En su nombre se realizó una animita.
