El 28 de mayo de 1945, el piloto kamikaze japonés, Hajime Fujii, se estrelló y hundió al destructor USS Drexler. Poco antes, su familia se suicidó para "librarlo" de sus obligaciones familiares y que así pudiese combatir sin reservas.
