El 11 de mayo de 1905 murió Ceferino Namuncurá, un adolescente salesiano argentino aspirante al sacerdocio. La Iglesia católica lo proclamó beato el 11 de noviembre de 2007, y es un santo popular en Argentina desde mediados del siglo xx.
