Chris Hefner
Four Answers to this Question
Universalism: no human being will be forever lost.Pluralism: all sincere followers of their religious will be saved
Inclusivism: all sincere followers of their religious will be saved because Jesus’ sacrifice is behind the religions of the world
Exclusivism: Jesus is the only way of salvation and explicit faith in Christ alone is necessary for salvation
Theological Takeaway: Salvation from sin can only be experienced exclusively through the substitutionary work of Jesus Christ. The God of the Bible is not the same as the gods of other faiths
Worship Takeaway: Because there is only one God, he is worthy of all our worship and attention. “Missions exists because worship doesn’t.“—John Piper
Evangelistic Takeaway: Because the only way to salvation is through Christ, we must spread the gospel through worship, witness, and works as often as we are able
Relational Takeaway: It is the mission of our church to lead our neighbors and the nations to follow Jesus by worshiping, learning, serving, and replicating. We fulfill this mission better together, in community, and ongoing partnership with one another
