Eagerness to see Jesus. Why?
Overcame many obstacles to discover this man who he heard about?
Risked safety, ridicule, and reputation my climbing a tree
The Crowd
Religious background, religious leaders
They saw him as a “agent of tyranny”
Didn’t understand Jesus
Encountered with Jesus
Jesus sees the hidden.
Jesus frees from the social pressures
Jesus brings recognition to the crowd that he is a person just like them
Jesus comes to seek and save the lost of the world. Fulfilled Ezekiel 34
What does this encounter teach us?
We need to be seeking Jesus
We will need to be concerned with our heart instead of the perception of others
We need to remember that Jesus is seeking us
We have to change our behaviors to reflect the gospel change in our lives
