When Jesus spoke to the rich young ruler about the law, he identified the self-righteousness that was keeping the ruler from eternal life
When Jesus spoke to the disciples about wealth and the kingdom, he identified the idolatry of money that keeps many from eternal life
When Jesus spoke about “following him,” he invites us to reject our self-righteousness and idolatry to receive salvation and eternal life
Give generously to examine your heart for the idol of money
Evaluate your life according to the law so the gospel will make sense
