And so, Daniel and I sit down to discuss "Deep Throat," which is the second episode of the series, but it could also be seen as the first "official" episode. Or, in any case, almost an extension of the pilot...as it sort of completes the arc, if you will, or at least finalizes its presentation of this series' ethos.
Is the title character supposed to be the actual Deep Throat? Did we know, in 1993, that Deep Throat was actually Mark Felt? In any case, actor Jerry Hardin looks more like Mark Felt than Hal Holbrook does. So, what does that tell you?
But all of that is beside the point. This is yet another strong episode that demonstrates how this series really did have some very solid footing right from the start. It's a spirited discussion you're sure to enjoy.
