Wow we laughed so much during this episode! Yes, listening to Amrit sharing how he struggled from depression for a few years, before discovering mindfulness and meditation and becoming a life & mindfulness coach... We laughed hard! Truth is, talking about depression, you can't help but talking about life, and it is so inspiring!
I love this saying that Life is too tragic to be taken seriously… And Amrit is an embodiment of that. His energy is so contagious. A bit like penguins: At a first glance they seem so cute and silly you can't help liking them; And then you realize what it really takes to live their life in the ice, and you feel serious respect for what they do, as well.

On compassion, inspiration, living on purpose, health, coming back from depression, meditation and mindfulness for everyone… And a lot of YEW!
* Amrit's discovery of mindfulness and transformation from depression to life coach. Going from his first impression of: "Really??? I've been into depression for years, and what you're giving me is a five step breathing exercise?! I'm glad I've got the pills!"... To "Wow, this going euphorically up and then crashing down with these pills is not gonna work for me. Glad I have the mindfulness thing!" [1:49]* Just connecting to my breath and counting my breath, connected me to the being present in the here and now.* We can have depression without realizing for a long time, being hard on ourselves, thinking we're broken and that there is a problem with us. Sometimes the label helps, like for Amrit who finally felt like he wasn't alone and there was a solution. [7:45]* All the images that advertising shows us, doesn't help bringing our self-worth up... Being surrounded by these kind of messages, how can we not end up with anxiety or depression?! We are sold a box to fit in, and many people actually follow this track without questioning if that's what they want to do. "The biggest piece to the puzzle of your health is your purpose."* "Fit" and healthy are two different things: "You can't spend nine hours at a work you hate and then one hour at the gym and be healthy." Your happiness and your health are deeply connected to what it is you're doing and the way you are walking in the world.[11:20]* We need to celebrate the differences. "You're meant to be whatever it is that is naturally you, but meanwhile you're trying to be the guy that's got the Ferrari and the mansion. That's when dis-ease sets in, because it is not easy for you to be that guy." "I really want people to get back to their purpose, to what they are here to do, so they can experience vitality like never before." [14:22]* It's exhausting to try to be someone else. "I encourage people to get as crazy as possible: Embrace your craziness." [16:50]* Listen to Amrit's legendary signature YEW! ;-) [17:31]* We are so afraid to show who we are, yet when we do it, it is so liberating not only for ourselves, but for everyone around us. As we liberate ourselves from our fear, we liberating others from theirs. "Whatever you are doing, you are not doing it just for you." Why inviting more compassion into our life is so healing. [18:10]* When you experience depression, it's all about you. The moment you reverse that and for example help someone, it is so empowering. "The minute you start living a life of serving others, everything else for yourself falls into place." How Amrit began his coach practice with being the go-to person for his friends. The play of giving & receiving: the more you give the more you get back… How easy is it to receive then? [21:06]* Marianne Williamson's quote (see below): Why are we so afraid to be who we ar...
