The spoils of this world never last a lifetime
One moment there’s plenty,
Then there’s no slice of bread to spare.
At the door of poverty there’s no fuss
Things become simple when the time is
Drawing to the end than the days left to live
There is comfort in knowing that the curtain
Can close anytime and no one is spared a call
Working to acquire heaps of rags is futile
At the end of this life we leave it all behind
No one can take what they never came with
We all depart as naked as we once were in birth
All the gold in the Queen’s castles can’t rival
What death has for all of us, at the end of this life.
But there’s a promise of eternal life through the
One and only King,
God can save all who come through Jesus
