Only invest your mind in things that matter to you
Let's be abundantly clear, every person in our lives takes up some mental real estate. As we age, we have to make allowances for some and X out others that don't deserve to be there. So many of us live on the edge every day; the last thing we want or need is some gaslighting person always there to aggravate. And so I tell you to start selling that property.
To me, friendships and relationships are an investment, and you see, when it comes to money, you are very careful where you invest it. But when it comes to our energy, we tend to invest haphazardously and then wonder why we are so tired or irritated. This is funny because time and energy are the things we can never get back. You could be dead broke tomorrow and be a millionaire the next day. But you can't be 40 and then 25 tomorrow. So we need to start protecting our energy and focusing on the people who are important and have something to contribute to our lives and dump everyone else.
Ask yourself this: If I was paying for this relationship, would this person still get my money?
