What drives you? Are you waiting for motivation? This is for you. Motivation is not a thing; it is not sustainable. And often, you like me use it as a crutch. However, you generally have to motivate yourself, and you need passion to do that. Notice when you are passionate about something, you are quick to do it. A whole part of psychology is called the psychology of motivation because motives make people do things they never thought they could or were capable of doing. It all has to do with neuroplasticity and creating new neurons, and that's what purpose does. Purpose trumps motivation because it’s the bigger picture and usually fuelled by passion. Ever notice that you are exhausted, but if you have an assignment due, you magically have just enough energy to do it? That’s because doing the assignment is in line with your purpose and so even through you are tired you still can do it.

Intrinsic motivation is more powerful than external because. As YOU have to want something, and purpose creates passion which creates inspiration. The whole expression mind over matter is the basis here. No one can want something for you; it is something that you have to want. Waiting to be motivated will have you waiting forever. You need to get up and get to the task at hand.
