Who are you blaming for your life? In the upcoming podcasts, I will share some personal stuff about my life with y'all. At my age, I am grown to know that while our environments play a fundamental part in who we are, we can redirect our paths in life. We don't have to be our parents; even if we become them, once we recognize the pattern, we can change course. The work is "changing course." Having a parent who struggled with mental health, it is straightforward for me to lie in bed one day and stay there. But I make it a point to get up and do other things, not just something comfortable. For a period, I would blame my parents, but the reality is that they honestly did the best they could, and now the rest of the work is mine to do.
