Description

Writing for a specific time period is certainly no easy task. Between the outfits, dialogue, and socioeconomic changes, the feat seems almost impossible. But in this episode, we take a look at two shows that managed to succeed in the face of that adversity.

Mad Men (1:26) - In the golden age of advertising, it takes the mind a true Mad Man to come up with the best ads for his clients, and Don Draper is the perfect example. In the face of smoking being proven as unhealthy, it's up to him to find a new angle for the industry. And just as it seems to be over, he blows his clients' minds once again.

Downton Abbey (40:37) - In the English countryside we find a wealthy family and their manor. All seems to be going perfectly for them until the sinking of the Titanic causes a shake up that would change their lives forever. Now they must find a way to move past this tragedy all while dealing with the repercussions.
