Every comedy show tries to take its own direction when it comes to humor. But often times we see that humor play out in similar ways. Of course, that’s no fault on the creators, but some would say it’s “easy” to fall into comfort zones in comedy. However, in these two shows - It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia & Curb Your Enthusiasm - the comedy comes out when they’re at their least comfortable. Luckily, with the help from our guest for this episode, Brad, things didn’t get too uncomfortable for us.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (5:52) - Have you ever wondered what happens when 4 people try to solve problems in the least mature way possible? Well look no further than Always Sunny. On their own, they’re barely functioning adults, but together, Charlie, Mac, Dennis, and Dee make up a team that really has a way of finding all the wrong things to say and do.
Curb Your Enthusiasm (45:06) - After Seinfeld ended, many people were left to wonder what might take it’s place as “The show about nothing.” But, they didn’t have to wait very long when Seinfeld’s creator himself, Larry David, created a show about himself…living life - or in other words, a show about nothing. What better way to move on from Seinfeld than to watch the creator of Seinfeld trying to move on from Seinfeld.
Apologies in advance for some of the mic quality issues, recording over the internet can be a bit tricky at times. Fortunately, the important parts came through and we still learned a great deal about these two shows. Enjoy!
