We’re excited to kick off (pun intended) our season with this football-inspired episode! Despite relating to different sports in different parts of the world, football is often an extremely important part of small communities. That love for the sport can run deep in those communities typically bringing them together.
Friday Night Lights (02:12) - When a man takes over as head coach for the local high school football team, he quickly becomes aware of the community pressure that comes with the job. On top of that, his son is the star quarterback for the team. Now he has to prove to his team, his family, and the town, that he has what it take to win this team the championship.
Ted Lasso (35:40) - A struggling English Premier League team changes ownership and, as a result, hires an American Division II college football coach to manage the team. Fortunately for them, a fresh new look at the game is exactly what they needed. But more than that, this borough of London needs a little extra love and friendship.
