This episode is a scheduled, reflective rewind. Our last episode "WISEcast Under Fire! Do we deserve equal pay without equal effort?" featured a debate with our friend Neil Thompson about this topic inspired by this rewind episode, Knocked Up or Knocked Out? Part 2, which we endearingly term KUKO. KUKO featured four accomplished women in different STEM careers from science, academia, technology and medicine. Two are mothers and two are not. In KUKO the women shared their stories and experiences about whether motherhood is a driver for inequities in STEM careers and how we can work to move the needle. The question and debate remains unresolved but there is some hope that motherhood won't always be a driver for inequities in STEM.
