Description

Richard David Marlow was born February 9, 1935, to his parents John and Gertrude Marlow in Etobicoke, Ontario, which is a subdivision of Toronto. He was only 9 years old at the time of his disappearance. It was a Tuesday evening, July 18, 1944, on Beta St. Most of the family went to a movie. Richard had seen the movie the night before, so he stayed home with his older brother Gerald. Gerald was just inside, keeping an eye on him. And just like that Richard was gone. He didn’t see or hear anything. He turned back to see the bicycle laying in the front yard.
An extensive search was conducted for the little 9-year-old. His father came home from the military to help and police and military militia were involved in the search. They drained ponds, dredged creeks, and checked down wells and outhouses.
To this day, Richard was never seen or heard from again.
