What makes living in swamp lands in the early 20th century even better? Well, it certainly isn’t catching tuberculosis. Opened in 1910, Waverly Hills Sanatorium was the place to be if you lived in Louisville and happened to contract the disease. During the 50 years it was open, thousands of people died, making it a big attraction for those on the hunt for something supernatural.
