Biblical Guide to Life #31: God alone is sufficient (St. Teresa of Avila)| Desire is the root of all suffering

Humans strive after so many things, only to realise they were NOT as important as we considered!

The wisest King, Solomon, owned everything he could think about.

But, what is the result?

He was NOT satisfied!

Then, what is the cure?

St. Teresa of Avila too was of that mind until she experienced something different.

She proclaimed,

उसे कोई भी चीज का अभाव नहीं,

जिसके पास ईश्वर है;

क्योंकि केवल ईश्वर ही पर्याप्त है।

"Let nothing frighten you

Though all things pass

God does not change

Patience wins all things.

He lacks nothing

Who possesses God

For God alone is SUFFICIENT."

Can we take her words seriously?

Or, do we have to try it for ourselves?

After his experiment with everything he could think about, King Solomon has this to say,

उपदेशक कहता है, "व्यर्थ ही व्यर्थ; व्यर्थ ही व्यर्थ; सब कुछ व्यर्थ है।"… मैंने आकाश के नीचे का सारा कार्यकलाप देखा है- यह सब व्यर्थ है और हवा पकड़ने के बराबर है।" (उपदेशक ग्रन्थ 1:2, 14) (Ecclesiastes 1:2, 14)
