Being Prepared and planning is key so for tomorrow if you are celebrating Thanksgiving
Remember to celebrate how far you have come. Listen to your dialogues and stay strong.
While cooking - have an alkagizer and WildFit approved snacks available to keep you on track. Snack - don't wait until food is serve to avoid code blue status.
Have a glass of water 15-20 minutes before eating - during busy and social times we tend to forget to hydrate.
Before picking up your plate to load it with food - take a few slow breathes, be grateful for the amazing healthy journey you are on and know what you are food choices you are making before digging it it's like taking a shopping list to a store- it helps you stay on track.
Taking a break or walk can reset any moments as well as stepping away from the food area to chat with someone may all that is needed to compose yourself and stay strong.
Remember it is just for a season and look how far you have come. One taste DOES make a difference - do not listen to the sugar monster! Do not taste it!
Self-care matters. You are doing this for you. Do not "taste" something to make someone else "happy" - you would not expect them to sabotage their health - so maybe there is some little monster or salesman in there somewhere trying to talk you into it,- fight it. You know how to treat yourself- WELL so don't treat yourself poorly.
You have come far - it is for a season and you need not set yourself back over a couple hours of a holiday.
Create new traditions that are not based on food - create special memories with family and friends, whether it is cherishing the past through memories or photos or taking time to honor each person, it is the people we are celebrating with that make this holiday special not the food. Make new traditions and enjoy your time with family and friends.
