The Parable of the Vineyard

Jesus foretells His own death with this story.
This parable shows us:
1. The purpose of God
God is carrying out a work in this world that He has made.
God wants to receive fruit from His vineyard today.
2. The person of Jesus
The most important question God will ask of us is: what did you do with My Son I sent to you?
3. The rejection of Israel
It is disrespectful to look at what Jesus did on the cross and say, “No, I don’t want that.”
Are you going to build your own house out of your own materials, or are you going to accept what God has provided - Jesus, the true cornerstone?
Our works are insufficient because they are tainted by sin.
