Che will share a series of events that changed her life when she was eight. In 1978 she was sent to live with her Aunts in Guyana, and while there developed, a bone infection called osteomyelitis. Che describes harrowing events in three countries where she almost died and how renowned Surgeon and Researcher Dr. Robert Salter saved her life. As fate would have it, eight years ago, she shared this life-altering event on the CBC radio show The Current about Game-Changing life events. Unbeknownst to Che, two of Dr. Salter's four children were listening to that show. They reached out to her and have had a chance to develop a deep connection with them; in the following episodes, Che will introduce listeners to Dr. Jane Salter and Stephen Salter. They are remarkable people in their own right.
