After catching her boyfriend in bed with another woman on her 30th birthday, Mona is not only left heartbroken but scarred. Since the break-up she refuses to celebrate any of her birthdays and doesn’t have too many kind words for the men she encounters. Her two best friends decide to surprise her for her 33rd birthday and buys them all tickets to Jazz in the Gardens, a jazz festival in their hometown of Miami. It takes some convincing but Mona reluctantly agrees to go. While there she catches the eye of a handsome stranger but her insecurities soon start to show and the hurt she still feels from her last relationship threatens the budding romance before it gets off the ground.
