What circumstances tend to reveal your lack of patience? What actions or attitudes in response to difficult circumstances communicate your lack of trust in God? What lies about God do you need to confess? What Scriptures will you memorize about God’s character to help you persevere in difficulties?
- Indicative statements:
- This is what God has done for His people
- i.e. saving us from our sins through Jesus
- Imperative statements:
- Our response to things (how we should act in accordance to what God has done.)
Indicative statements should make it easier for us to obey the imperative, not have us become robots just obeying commands. This structures the heart posture of the saint.
